Love and Truth Belize is an ongoing project, with many facets. A few years ago, we purchased 50 acres in a beautiful tropical area of the Cayo District. We have partially developed the land there, and are waiting on God’s direction for future ministry plans.
We also have an acre and a little house in a small poor village called Duck Run #3, where we have ministered for about three years now. There is a school there called Hidden Paradise that we as a church “adopted” 5 years ago and have helped them to remodel their entire facility, as well as brought in school supplies, done an after school program, etc. Grant and Ashlee Dew were our first missionaries to live full time in Belize and they lived in our house in Duck Run #3, working with the families there as well as the school children. They did much to establish a good rapport between Love and Truth Ministries and the village.
In July of 2015, we sent another couple and their son to Belize as missionaries. They are Thomas and Jaime Brown, and Trey. We are excited as they fell in love with the country the first time they went. They have both been on several trips to Belize with church teams and each time, their hearts were drawn a little more down there, and less in the United States, and finally their dream of going full time was fulfilled. They worked closely with families in the village and surrounding areas, ministering in a variety of ways. They were very involved with our Hidden Paradise school as well, and served in many ways in a local church in the Spanish Lookout area. As of July 2017, they have come home to Tennessee to rest, recuperate, and seek God about direction for their future.
Meanwhile, we continue to work on the building on the 50 acre site, preparing it for whatever God has. The fulfillment of our work in Belize is yet to be seen. We are open to whatever God leads. It’s a beautiful country with beautiful souls, and we are expecting a great harvest.
Love and Truth East Africa began several years ago when a couple from our church traveled to Kenya for the first time and fell in love with the country of Kenya. Since that time, we have established many Love and Truth Churches in the western and northern parts of Kenya, as well as across the borders in Uganda, and most recently Rwanda and Tanzania. there are plans to expand into the DRC, Sudan, Burundi, and even South Africa, as God provides and leads.
The entire ministry in East Africa is led by our Chairman, Rev. Julius Muya, of Lodwar, Kenya. We also have a Bishop in Sironko, Uganda, Godfrey Kuloba, who also serves under the direction of Bishop Muya. They are assisted by Rev. Peter Amutayi in Kasosi, Kenya and Rev. Joseph Bulimo in Bugosa, Uganda. Today, we have 85 Love and Truth churches established in East Africa. We have seven elementary and preschools, providing Christian education for many children who cannot otherwise afford private schooling. We also support orphans and young adults in getting advanced secondary and university education, as well as providing ongoing drought relief to the remote areas of Eastern Africa.
Our focus for East Africa is to see the pastors encouraged and trained, to see many more people won to the Kingdom of God, and to break some unhealthy cycles of poverty and corruption in these beautiful countries – to establish a place of healing and hope.
Yearly trips to Africa have included pastors’ conferences, crusades, ministry in schools and churches, feeding programs, giving out school and medical supplies, medical clinics, putting up fencing at schools, painting and building at schools, and making lifelong connections between the Love and Truth people in America and those in East Africa.
Love and Truth Asia Pacific, Inc. (LATAPI) came about as a result of a divine appointment by God in the year 2000, starting with a connection with one pastor in the city of Cagayan de Oro on the island of Mindanao. Since that time, LATAPI has gone through several modifications, becoming a thriving force in that area of the Philippines. LATAPI is led by our Chairman, Pastor Temotio Yap who is assisted by four other leaders (Pastor Masamiro Sumayo, Pastor Fabian Beronio, Pastor Wilifred Pamisa, and Pastor Edgar Sebuala).
Today, we have a total of 17 churches, several schools, and a Bible College in Cagayan de Oro City, where we are training young people for ministry and instilling the "DNA" of Love and Truth Ministries. We also have outreaches and feeding programs in several other areas of Mindanao, including some mountainous tribal areas that are difficult to reach. We have recently acquired a piece of donated property about an hour from Cagayan de Oro that will be used as God gives direction, for His Kingdom. We also have pastors in the capital city of Manila (on another island) who are ready to join LATAPI very soon.
Mission trips to the Philippines have included pastor’s conferences, youth conferences, ministry in churches, ministry/feeding in challenging areas, children’s outreaches, crusades, church and school dedications, and several huge baptism days in the ocean.
The future of LATAPI is exciting, and we love our brothers and sisters there! We can hardly wait to see what God is going to do next.
